Delivering on the huge promise of abundant, clean and safe electricity from fusion energy is in many ways the holy grail of the energy industry. This huge promise has led to private companies setting up to investigate innovative fusion experiments and technologies, in addition to the publicly funded work undertaken by UKAEA and the university sector as part of a wider European and international programme.
This session aims to explore ways in which collaboration between private and public fusion research programmes can be increased, discussing the barriers to collaboration, proposing potential solutions and ensuring the UK fusion community takes advantage of the huge opportunities.
