The Fusion Energy APPG held its Inaugural Meeting on Tuesday 23rd July.
During the meeting, the Group’s name and statement of purpose was approved by attendees and we were delighted to elect James Naish MP as Chair of the Group. Jo White MP, George Freeman MP and Lord Ravensdale were all elected as Officers of the Group.
Valerie Jamieson, Development Manager at The Fusion Cluster which provides the secretariat to the Group, covered latest developments in fusion and current challenges that must be overcome in order to achieve commercialisation of the technology. There was also discussion of the Group’s planned events programme for 2024 / 25.
We’re looking forward to kick starting a packed schedule of exciting events in this new Parliament.
